I know I’ve mentioned this before, and it keeps bugging me.
Maybe it’s my mind playing tricks on me; maybe it’s something else? Either way, I can’t shake this feeling that all is not well in my world, which is surprising. I have everything I have ever wanted, bar retirement. I like to think that my health is improving despite the challenges.
My job is, well, just that. It’s a means to an end. I’ve been there for almost a year now, and there have been ups and downs, but generally speaking, it’s okay. I’m home before 5 every day, don’t work weekends, and only have to make a 15-minute commute each day. So, it’s not bad. I could probably do with a bit more in the way of salary, but I’m not that desperate.
My hobbies keep me grounded. I am taking time to fully understand AI and how to use it for everything I do, from blogging to health monitoring to travel planning and a whole lot more. I might sign up for a few more online courses; they’re very helpful. Then there’s the music and the motorsports, both passions of mine.
So, WTF am I to do about some of this latent negativity? I don’t think that I should dismiss it entirely. I get the feeling that I should embrace it and somehow use it as fuel for change. I suppose the good thing is that I am noticing things like these feelings instead of ignoring them and pretending they don’t exist. That’s a positive. I’ll hang onto that. I need to remind myself that despite all the shit that’s going down in the world right now, I have options.
I am still healthy, still working, still enjoying home life and being with family and friends. Speaking of which, I met up with my best friend’s brother and his wife for breakfast yesterday. I have known them for as long as I have known my buddy. It felt good catching up. We didn’t reminisce; we just spoke about our lives as they are right here, right now. We will get together again soon. They are wonderful people to be with.
The moral of the story is, don’t let life grind you down. Recognise the feelings, face them head-on, and go and do the things you love to do, with people who love you and want to be around you.
